This is how you cancel an Amazon account when someone dies
Amazon is the largest e-commerce company in the world based in Seattle, Washington. The technology company also focuses on cloud computing, digital streaming and artificial intelligence, but most people use it to conduct online shopping.
There’s two different types of Amazon accounts, Prime and Basic, and each has different requirements for cancelation.

How do I transfer Amazon points?
Amazon's policy states that it will transfer any points or gift certificates it has on file to an estate, or family member that notifies them of the deceased person's passing. Please reference the following web page, and see the below instructions for details: Amazon Deceased Customer Account.
However, transferring Kindle books and video content is impossible.
What if I don't have required information?
If you don't have login information for the deceased person's Amazon account, then you'll want to visit this web page: Amazon Deceased Customer Account
They require you to provide an email address, and a copy of the death certificate.

Atticus' Legacy Review of Amazon account cancellation process after someone dies = 7 / 10 stars
Amazon gets extremely high marks on it's account cancellation process, because it has a clear policy and provides web resources to users. Given how much Amazon has engrained itself in our lives it's a good thing this process is taken so seriously by them. Amazon misses out on perfect marks because it's difficult for a person without an Amazon account to contact them. They also lose points because they don't allow transferring of digital assets to anyone. Hopefully, after receiving this less than perfect mark they'll write a better policy for their clients.
