How to transfer points out of a Hilton Honors account
If you have a username and password for the deceased person’s online account, then transfer them from there. You can also “Pool” your points, allowing you to share it with up to 10 people, which is great if there are multiple beneficiaries (they just need an account to transfer points into). Transferring is also free of fees.
If you don’t have login information, Hilton is well set up for this process. They request that you fill out this death transfer affidavit prior to contacting them. When you submit this form, you’ll also be required to provide the following:
- Prior to calling, YOU MUST HAVE ANOTHER Hilton Honors account to transfer points into
- Certified copy of Death Certificate
- Hilton Honors account information
Keep in mind, if you inform Hilton, the clock starts ticking — you’ll have one year from the date of death to claim the points
What if I don't have the required information?
If you don't have login information, nor a death certificate, then contact Hilton Honors using the following methods:

Atticus' Legacy Review of Hilton's closing account process after someone dies = 9/10 stars
Hilton gets solid marks from Atticus' Legacy Review of their closing account process after someone dies, as they have a clear policy, and has accessible web pages that speak to the policy. They also don't charge a fee for transferring points, and Hilton makes it easy for executors who don't have login information. If they would just have a means to trade points for cash that would give them a perfect score, as to benefit you'll have to have a Hilton Honors account. Hopefully, after receiving this less than perfect mark they'll write one for their clients.
