Whole life insurance is life insurance which covers the entire lifetime of the person insured. Also called permanent insurance, this coverage pays a death benefit to the estate whenever the deceased passes. Executors should review all contracts of the estate to determine what, if any, death benefits should be received. This type of insurance differs from the traditional term life insurance which pays a death benefit in the event the deceased passes during the term of the agreement.
