In the late 1960's, I was a technician for the Photostat Corporation based in Oklahoma City. I got a call to go to Lipscomb, Tx county courthouse to repair the county clerk's photostat machine. First of all, I almost never found the town. After a long drive, I arrived in Lipscomb and there was one house, a general store and the county courthouse. That was the most remote courthouse in my territory. The Photostat machine was used to record all sorts of legal documents. The copies of the documents were bound in large books so that people could do research of county records.
