Doe Erwin, Chief Deputy and Blake Strickland are two of the rudest individuals I have ever had the misfortune to meet. This is my opinion. However, after sharing my experience with these two at another local business, both the clerk as well as two other customers within earshot all stated they had heard of similar stories. The young woman behind me in line said she was made to feel as if she were inferior to them. While I don't have the requisite lack of confidence to allow someone else to make me feel this way, it was clear during my own interactions with them that their default attitude was gruff, even brash. The clerk said that he had to help people almost on a weekly basis who complained. He said it seems like they almost go out of their way to make things difficult. If you don't have the COMMON decency to treat others the way you would want to be treated by default, then at least try and remember you are public servants. It's your JOB. If you are unhappy with it, please seek other opportunities. It's a shame that citizens of Wayne County have to go to a Clerk of Court in another county to do their business.
