Figure out South Carolina probate
My daughter died in December. The Probate Court said I need to go through the full probate process to file her final income tax returns. I got the paperwork and submitted it to them. Since then my tax preparer has filed the state and federal and the checks have come back. They do not know the law as to taxes and probate. After I received the checks I got an email containing more forms to fill out. I am now just ignoring them. I am disappointed in the lack of timely response and they don't answer the phone at all. Leaving a message is a waste of time because they don't respond. This is what our taxes pay for.
Today is April 28, 2021. They open at 8:30 and I arrived 5 mins early and They opened late. The female officer that opened the doors was very polite. When I got to the window I was standing there for awhile until the custodian saw me and made the lady aware that I was there. She told him to tell me “hold on.” Since she was so busy another woman was trying to help me and she was very rude as well. They was very unorganized she could not find the paperwork I needed. Then another woman with short red hair came in and showed her where the paperwork was. Once she receives the paperwork she couldn’t login to the computers in the front she can only login to the computers in the back. So the one with the red hair just took over because she could log into the computers in the front. I said “good morning how are you” and she did not acknowledge me so I said it for a second time and then she said “good” and went right back talking to the other employee. Very rude and Nasty. If you don’t wanna work with the public don’t get a job working with the public.
I've been yelled at and hungup on by the same lady twice now. My documents I dropped off in person over 7 months ago has moved nowhere. They're never anwser your questions or call you back. My child is being affected by sc lack of work ethic. The courts are open via zoom, but appay dosent suffice for Richland county. M
The lady was very helpful! The down side is that no one ever answers the phone. I know with more than 3 people working there, someone should be able to answer. No one returns the calls from the voice mail either. You must go to the court in person.
They have no problem taking your money online but when you try to upload documents to their online services, it mess up your whole system. They need to fix that!
