The clerk in Vital Records was very nice and extremely helpful. She told me exactly what to do and how to navigate expected road blocks, avoid common mistakes that would get my request rejected, and offered to help more if I needed it. This is the way people should be treated when they call for help.
I went here to get an assumed name certificate done about a week ago. I already had it filled out and notarized. The lady that helped me seemed pretty short with me at first, but jumped on the task and took care of me quickly and with some pretty great personality. Actually, it was kind of surprising. My initial reaction was to not like her, but she warmed up and we got through the transaction quickly. I must have misread her first interaction with me. Having worked for the government, I steeled myself to grin and bear her abrasive personality and just get through the transaction. As it turned out, we had a quick and cordial interaction. I can only think that she is just very efficient and is used to dealing with folks that don't have everything ready to go. That's not really an excuse, I suppose, but I certainly can't complain that it worked out for me.
Staff is very ill-informed. Have no idea about the forms that are needed or what to even file. Cannot differentiate between a DBA for a corporation or assumed name for unincorporated entities. The county should be ashamed of itself for employing people in charge of operating government offices that probably couldn't even pass a regular High School. People and government should know their jobs or not have their jobs.
So apparently Navarro County Clerks office does NOT keep their forms in their office.... they send you to an office supply store.. and to too it off they won't accept the State forms.. NOPE just the office supply store forms... how much sense does that make?!?
My sister got pulled over for speeding she gets a warning and me and my husband get a ticket for passengers with no seat belt.. OK we were wrong for that but, I have tried to call these people for days to get infor on how to set payments for this and I get no call back. all options go to an automated VM which im sure dont get checked cause i have left numerous messages and dont get a call back. This is a problem when you have people who try to take care of a fine and there is NO ONE IN WHATS SUPPOSED TO BE A PROFESSIONAL PUBLIC PLACE TO ASSIST THE CITIZENS.
