By far some of the worst customer service I have experienced with government offices; my job requires me to speak with officials all day. Some of them are absolute gems and the vast majority are competent and pleasant enough to deal with. Not Lake County. I've called on no less than 45 occasions to get a document and the phone has only been picked up twice to date. I just called (it is 8:41 am) and the woman who answered the phone barked, "We don't open up until 8:30!" and hung up on me. Um.. okay?
When I looked up the Lake County Clerks office in Maps, it only gave me “Lake County Offices” which lead me to the coroner. I understand having the wrong number, that could have been my fault not searching for the correct name, but why would Lake County Offices be the number for the coroner. And then the coroner gave me the incorrect number for the Clerks office. That number was out of service. So I had to look it up again on my own, which wasn’t a problem. The lady who did end up helping me with my marriage license issue was kind and helpful.
I needed an official state issued copy of my marriage certificate to get a "True ID drivers license" in Tennessee. They wouldn't accept a church issued cert. When I called 755-3461 the first lady transferred the call and no one answered. The second time I called I got a great lady who actually walked over and got a lady to answer the call. Her name I believe was Paula, she took good care of my request. Gives me faith in good people doing their job! Thank you, Paula!
Anyone at all within ear shot of a phone? I've been calling for an hour straight!! Patience to ignore phones like grandmasters from ancient times.
I was a victim in a case for battery and the defendant fled, no less after four years they picked up the defendant and then submitted plea without me knowing. They told me in the prosecutors office that restitution is not always will be granted. I was never informed on my case of the court date nor to this day still know what the plea was. I will do to the fullest to get this over turned. I bet the Judge don't even know what really happened because the prosecutors sure did not know and still don't. I spoke with the supervisor and she said to me like I was not being nice for them messing up to calm down and she then put me on hold and could not locate the file. I have been calling the prosecutors office since the defendant was picked up and no one knows what is going on. This is why that place needs to learn the basics before getting a job. Now I am out of $2,000.00 if I can't get the Judge to reopen the case. What would you do????
