Getting my marriage license was fine, so 2 stars. Called about changing my name because I got married, was told three times that I would need a fingerprint card. Dropped $50 on getting a card done in Carrollton (DCSO isn't doing them right now and couldn't find a place in Denton) only to show up today and be told I didn't need one since I'm changing my name because of a marriage. The lady tried to push me to buy another copy of my license for the SS office because "they'll try to keep the original," which is completely false. It's ok to say "I don't know, let me find out" instead of making up answers.
This review is for the marriage license department: the ladies are SO SWEET!!! Michelle and Sonny in particular, as well as the name of another lady whose name I didn’t catch. An absolutely wonderful experience :)
The clerks in the civil/family office are extremely rude and not helpful. As a common citizen I do not have any clue how to file lawsuits and petitions or anything of the sort. A little bit of compassion and understanding goes a long way.
Went today to purchase a death certificate, and made various mistakes filling out the form. The lady was very nice and showed me where I made the multistage and gave me another form. When she printed the certificate, it was too high on the paper so she redid it real quick. I like that she cares abt her job and was very polite to me.
Friendly, helpful staff who made the passport application process easy peasy!
