Very quick service and friendly employees. The only negative is getting the appointment to get into the building. I was there for a permit and you don't get a temporary you have to wait 3 to 5 months for it to be mailed. On top of the 2 month wait for the appointment that's almost one half of a year to get a permit to carry a firearm.
Easier finding a needle in a haystack. They have two websites and one is old and hasn't been taken down. Nor is the old website directing people to the new one (you know common sense type stuff). Very frustrated but welcome to city government I guess.
The county did a good service and was professional. However, I do wish they would add more staff and process or mail permits quicker during this time. They have a hard time meeting demand. Currently no marriage ceremonies are happening. But that is because of covid...not because of them. Still, I would like to see them ramp up.
Temperature check is mandatory. They provided a clear plastic bag for security check-in. Parking meter outside is 2-hour max. I paid $3 for an hour. I made an appointment online, but it did not show up, so make sure to save the email confirmation. Marriage and gun permit do not accept bills greater than $20, also a $2 transaction fees were added on of using a credit card. Usually, there is a line. Plan ahead, give yourself an hour for parking, walking, and waiting in line. My appointment was 8:30am, but I got out a bit after 9am.
I was here for my carry permit. The guy that controls the line before you enter your window is not friendly and he doesn't see well. My name was in all caps and he never saw it. My daughter had to show him my name on his list. During these crazy times, people need to be more nicer. It doesn't hurt anything to have good customer service.
