Trying to get a marriage license. Is impossible to get in touch with anyone and they treat you like a pest for calling.
We completed our marriage license here. The people were all very professional, kind and friendly from the security guard at the door to the custodian to the women working inside the offices. Everyone was jovial and actually seemed like they genuinely enjoy their jobs. Our appointment was at 8:15 and we were told to come an hour before our scheduled time, but they don't let the public enter until after 8am. We waited for nearly an hour before we were called back to complete the paperwork.
Good luck getting a hold of somebody here Over the course of 2 weeks I called in multiple times I left my name and number for them to call me back and never received a call. All of this only to get a little bit of information because it was not available on the website.
The probate court is impossible to get correspondence from unless you call multiple times and then you are treated as a pest for simply wanting to get information on what else you may need for a license. and then, after you return you marriage license with the correct sized envelope with stamps as instructed to not have your official marriage document folded, they will ignore this, and send you a crumpled folded sad official document 20 days later. If you're local, just make the drive to Effingham County. You can call to make a reservation very easily and can just walk in at that time without having to send sensitive information over email that may just be ignored until you call.
