It is a pleasure to work for the Clerk's Office. We have supportive and helpful superiors. My co-workers are kind and quick to offer help. The janitors always keep the building clean and beautiful. The sheriffs are attentive but polite. It is a joy to come to work each day. The Circuit Court makes it easy to give good customer service. Thank you Circuit Court of Howard County.
I've thankfully never had to use this court for a case or anything else, so I can't speak for that, but I was summoned for jury duty in a few weeks. It's a nightmare for a small business owner who works alone and I didn't know what to do. I sent an unnecessarily long email last night explaning my situation and received an email back within less than 24 hours excusing me. I was so thankful and gracious that not only was I excused given how serious jury duty is, but that the court understood the hardships I could face should I attend. I have heard horror stories from others summoned to other courts who were unable to get out and it shut their lives down. I can't tell the court how much I appreciate it. I know being a member of a jury is my civil duty and as someone majoring in criminal justice and someone who religiously watches trials, I appreciate the system and all that it is comprised of but I just thank those members who allowed me to keep my business open during these times. Best courthouse i been in staff are on poi t they take time to help you. Free parking. The police at the front are very nice and they tell you were to go. Free legal help. Wow i wish everyone in other government staff workers were as helpful as
I have been trying to reach the licence department over the phone since 3 days , it repeats the loop whenever it says transferring the call, I am stuck with the questions I have since 3 days
!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FATHERS BEWARE !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was told from several sources including Howard County Police Officers, to stay away Howard County for family hearings because they use Magistrates (female) who are extremely prejudice against Fathers. THIS IS TRUE. Regardless of how tight your case is, you WILL lose. Whatever you say can and WILL be used against you! In my two separate experiences with Magistrate Lara Weathersbee. I found her to be prejudice to the extreme. My first hearing with her she constantly overruled my counsel and told my counsel to 'sit down' and provided my counsel with 30% time compared to providing 70% time to ex, in a separate case (same ex), Magistrate Lara Weathersbee appeared to be more empathetic and listen ONLY to skin you alive with her absurd and unjust 'findings' and recommendations to the judge. This type of prejudice is the reason people are revolting and should not have any place in our society, especially in family court. I want to reiterate Howard County is EXTREMELY prejudice against Fathers!!! BE WARNED and STAY AWAY from Howard County Circuit Courts.
